Jenkins caps British triathlon domination

Britain rules the triathlon world going into Olympic year after Helen Jenkins won the country’s third world championship in consecutive days in Beijing on Sunday.

Jenkins' triumph in the women's four-race series followed Alistair Brownlee's success in the men's event and Matthew Sharp's victory in the Under 23 championship. No Briton has won an Olympic medal since the sport's introduction in 2000.

Runner-up in the men's championship was Alistair's younger brother, Jonathan, while Sharp led a British clean sweep of medals. For Jenkins, who finished runner-up to Andrea Hewitt, it was her second title after her 2008 win.
