Iranian women's national team was banned from the 2012 Olympic qualifying match against Jordan because it makes the hijab as part of their game shirts. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad assess FIFA violate human rights and the decision was full of political interest.
"They are dictators and invaders who want to impose their lifestyle on others. We will confront those who run this bad job. We act according to the rights of our daughters," says Ahmadinejad.
According to the Guardian, last year the Iranian women's national team also suspended for similar reasons. Chairman of the Division of Women's Football Federation of Iran, Farideh Shojaei, said it had modified their costumes on the cover of the head and the changes that have been accepted and allowed to be used by FIFA and its president, Sepp Blatter.
It is said also by Shojaei that the costumes that have been modified it has never been used in official games and no problems. He also claimed to be surprised when shortly before the game against Jordan, FIFA suspended the team because Iranian women's football team refused to play without headgear. According Shojaei, what Iran has done not in violation of FIFA rules.
