London 2012 Olympic Torch Route

London 2012 Olympic torch route has been determined. The torch will be brought around 74 locations in various parts of England as far as 12,800 kilometers. The location of the first route and starting from Land's End, Cornwall morning of May 19, 2012, Cornwall time.

The torch will be taken to visit the six islands, they are the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, Shetland, Orkney and the Isle of Lewis. The torch will be paraded for 12 hours per day.

After passing Land's End, the planned Olympic flame will pass through 12800 km around the UK and provide thousands of community and individual moments of happiness when the Olympic flame came up to them.

Olympic flame will arrive on July 27, 2012 at Olympic stadium to light the fire cauldron at the opening ceremony, which marks the beginning of the 2012 London Olympics.

Cities that will be passed among others, Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, Belfast, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham, Oxford, Southampton and Dover.

The plan Olympic torch will be carried by 8,000 people who are aged between 12-24 years.

But unfortunately this time the Olympic torch will not travel around the world. A year from now the torch will arrive in Britain from Greece and during the next 70 days the Olympic torch will roam the UK.

This is certainly based on the decision of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) who decides that the relay was held domestically only. They learned of the controversial events in Olympic Torch Relay 2008 in Beijing, where there were protesters who exploit the event for the demonstration of human rights abuse in China.
